Thanks to Sam Talley who notes: "This West Coast Airlines airplane is a DC-3 fixed wing 3-bladed twin propeller transport. It could make a transcontinental trip in 17 hours with three fuel stops. It is considered to be the most important transport aircraft ever built. The first one flew in 1935. 16,000 were produced, and in 1998 four hundred were still being used. They flew in and out of Bowerman Field for many years as our primary air flight contact with the region."
