An anonymous correspondent notes: "Even though it looks like a streetcar, these were called steam dummies as they were actually steam powered locmotives used in city switching jobs, but covered to look like streetcars so as not to frighten the horses. When they were surplus to the city street railroads they were passed on to the loggers who used them often."
