Thanks to Sam Talley, who notes: "These tracks which at one time ran from Montesano to Cosmopolis and on to Aberdeen have been removed. For a short distance they ran along Blue Slough. The old grade makes a good hiking trail on which deer and bear can sometimes be spotted. It travels along the historical ferry landing site in South Montesano at Melbourne.  In this photo the small 2-lane South Bank road from Cosmopolis to Montesano is on the left of the tracks, but up on the hillside. The roadway on which the work crew is parked does not have a lane stripe so it must be a gravel access road."
