17535_1 from this assignment appears on page 65 of William D. Jones' "Motor Cars and Serv-Us Stations" under the number 17535. Book caption reads : "Standard Oil Service Station, 401 West Main Street in Elma, Washington. Building constructed of Super-Harbord Plywood. September 4,1940." A similar but not identical image to 17535_1 from this assignment appears on page 67 of William D. Jones' "Motor Cars and Serv-Us Stations" under the incorrect number 17534. Book caption reads : "Les Parkhurst Gilmore Oil Co. Red Lion Gas Station in Elma, Washington. September 4,1940. Built out of Super Harbord Plywood."  
Thanks to Sam Talley who adds “Red Lion was the name of a regular grade gasoline with lead added. Gilmore Oil Co. was founded by A. F. Gilmore in 1900 in Los Angeles. By the 1930’s the company operated 50 distributorship plants and 3,500 independent gas stations in California, Oregon, and Washington. By 1936 they had sold 98 million gallons of gas. In the 1940’s Mobil bought Gilmore Oil and the stations then sold other brands. Gilmore memorabilia is very collectible."
