Thanks to Sam Talley, who adds: "Many people think the owners of these logging companies wanted these group pictures for the sake of prosperity. The truth of the matter is that the photographers would travel around to various logging companies and offer to take this type of group portrait with the idea of selling each person a copy of the one picture."
