Description

Town marshall stands in front outside fence.
Thanks to Kathleen Peterson who notes: "This group  of homes was located on J Street in Hoquiam.  My mother shared stories with me of how the Health Department would come and quarantine the house that was affected.  Depending on the type of illness, the quarantine might last for many weeks. This meant that no one could come or go until the ban was lifted. The houses depicted in the photo show multiple designs of fancy-butt cedar shingles and other types of ornate shingles typical of this era."
