Thanks to Sam Talley who notes: “Shown here is a circular cut-off saw blade and two bandsaw blades in the filers shop. A circular blade was used to cut the logs into different lengths as they entered the mill. If the blade was 108 inches across, the saw assembly would be referred to as a '108 inch cut-off saw'. To cut rough widths of lumber from the log, band saws were usually used; these are seen in the middle background of this photo."
