This aerial view by Stan Spiegle shows the neighborhood around the old South Bend High School, including the school, its track and a grandstand under construction. Built in 1914, damaged by fire in 1965 and closed after 1968, the building was designed by Aberdeen architect Watson Vernon. It served junior and senior high school students.
