Gilmore Oil Co.

Thanks to Sam Talley who adds: “The local Gilmore distributor sponsored this team. Gilmore Oil Co. was founded in 1900 by A. F. Gilmore in Los Angeles. In the 1930’s the company operated 50 distributorship plants and 3,500 independent gas stations in California, Oregon, and Washington. By 1936 they had sold 98 million gallons of gas. In the 1940’s Mobil bought Gilmore. Today (2010) Gilmore memorabilia is very collectible."
