Thanks to Sam Talley, who writes: "This shows the Weyerhaeuser Pulp mill. Log rafts were towed to the chip plant and the logs were ground up into wood chips by large grinders or chippers. Several rafts of pulp logs can be seen tied up in the river. A large overhead crane would lift them out of the river. Later the chip plant was shut down and chip trucks would bring the wood chips from numerous mills.”
