This photo was taken in 1929 as an advertising banner in the background across Simpson Ave. is advertising "Wood Week" which took place in October of that year. Wood Week was a manufacturer's showcase event held to show off the Harbor's many wood products producers. Also visible in the foreground are LaVogue Department Store, the Emerson Hotel, and American Veteran's Building. The Grayport Hotel building is also visible just beyond the Emerson Hotel.
