Hughes' "On the Harbor : From Black Friday to Nirvana" notes that these newsboys have their carts and wagons loaded to deliver a 1924 'Progress' edition of the Aberdeen Daily World. At the time of the photograph the newspaper's offices faced the D&R Theatre. Three years later, the newspaper would move to a nearby building.
