This house is on the corner of 9th & J st. at 202 West 9th St. in Aberdeen. It was built in 1923 by Sarah (Elway) Wiesinger's mother. Sarah lived her entire married life here and the house in the background was also built by Mrs. Elway for her sister Helena Barlow. Sarah and Helena Elway were the daughters of Lemuel Elway and Ida Anderson Miller who was the daughter of Anderson & Middleton Logging Co. co-founder Henry Neff "Pap" Anderson. Lem Elway opened Elway Plumbing in the early 1900's. The business is still a going concern in Aberdeen today [2010]. Sarah died in 2002 at the age of 102. This picture was taken before the addition was built onto the south side of the house. By the way, Lemuel Elway was the great-grandfather of quarterback John Elway. Lem's son, Harry, was Jack Elway's father, who was John's father. The image includes the George Barlow house at 1107 North J St. Thanks to Skip Perry and Terri Middleton for providing this information.
