Thanks to Sam Talley who notes: "The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, IOOF or Odd Fellows came to the United States in Maryland in 1819. It came to Aberdeen in 1888 when a new hall was built at Market & F Street. Carpet was not available so they used sawdust from the Weatherwax sawmill as their first floor covering."
