Although the negative was captioned by the photographer as "7th and J", this is really 7th and K in Hoquiam. The Elks Club is on the left and farther up the street is the old Hoquiam General Hospital. Also visible is the Hoquiam Theatre. The front corner of the library is on the right. Thanks to Jack Durney for contributing information.
Added thanks to Sam Talley who notes: "The Hoquiam General Hospital, located at 7th and K St., was opened in the early 1900's by Dr. Horace Campbell. It is uncertain when it ceased operating as a hospital. It was across from the Hoquiam Library near the Elks Club. This writer's friend Timothy Barnes came to Hoquiam in 1941 when his father Dr. Percy L. Barnes took residence in the top floor of the hospital. By that time, only the 1st floor was in use for treating emergencies and Rayonier mill personnel. The hospital later closed and was converted into the Evergreen Apts."
