Thanks to Sam Talley who notes: "The Hoquiam General Hospital, located at 7th and K St., was opened in the early 1900's by Dr. Horace Campbell. It is uncertain when it ceased operating as a hospital. It was across from the Hoquiam Library near the Elks Club. This writer's friend Timothy Barnes came to Hoquiam in 1941 when his father Dr. Percy L. Barnes took residence in the top floor of the hospital. By that time, only the 1st floor was in use for treating emergencies and Rayonier mill personnel. The hospital later closed and was converted into the Evergreen Apts."
Additional thanks to Terri Middleton, who mentions: "It should be noted that these women are in costume and not in the standard 1939 nurses uniform."
