Description

Goodin's Grocery & Confections exterior.
Thanks to Kathleen Peterson who adds this story: "I was raised in Hoquiam and as I attended school, I would walk by this store all the time.  In the 1940's my father would stop by for a quart of hand-packed carton of vanilla ice cream. So very delicious and I could hardly wait for him to get it home.  Pencils were 2 for 5 cents. They had a good inventory of school supplies also.  Their penny candy was so delicious and I had a very hard time choosing with their vast variety.  Mr. George Goodin and his wife, Mary, were very nice people and ran this store from the late 1930's until about 1953 when it was sold to Mr. and Mrs. Harold Rychard and thus became Rychard's.  Comic books galore could be had at this store with Little Lulu, being one of my favorites."
