Thanks to Kathleen Peterson who notes: "I grew up in Hoquiam during the 1940's through the 1960's. I can remember some of the policemen in this photo. At far right in first row is Chief Foote. Joseph Cyr (Sootie) is in the second row on the left. He rode a motorcycle around the town and was very friendly especially to us kids. Norman Bagley was the first officer in the bottom row next to the man in the suit. I went to school with his daughter, Cheryl. Then there were other policeman I remember in this picture named Potter and Snyder. All of the police during this particular era were very nice. I felt very well protected with all of these wonderful men who laid their lives on the line for us in Hoquiam."
An anonymous commentator adds: "The man standing in the back row on the far left is Earl Reeves."
