Thanks to Sam Talley who adds: "These 4th of July celebrations were held in alternate years primarily between Aberdeen and Hoquiam, but several times Cosmopolis participated. The cities tried to outdo each other with their festivities. The events were heavily attended and involved a lot of speeches, parades and sporting events."
