Thanks to Sam Talley who notes: "These 4th of July celebrations were held in alternate years, primarily between Aberdeen and Hoquiam, but several times Cosmopolis participated. The cities tried to outdo each other with their festivities. The events were heavily attended and involved a lot of speeches and sporting events."
