Engine 1 was a 1927 Ahrens Fox piston pumper. Ahrens Fox was known as the Rolls Royce of fire engines in its heyday. This pumper was rated at 1000 gallons per minute. The large dome on the front of the rig acts as a pressure dome, which was very common feature on piston pumps. Engine 1 was in service until late 1951 and was then took its place in reserve status. It now resides at the Aberdeen Museum of History. Thanks to Aberdeen Fire Chief Dave Carlberg for contributing information.
