Description

Ocean Shores Resort personnel with convertible and sign. Thanks to Sam Talley for adding this anecdote: "An investment group bought the beach area for a reported million dollars in about 1960. A movie star from the 1940s, Ginny Simms, opened the Ginny Simms Restraurant. The promoters had some movie star - type people flown into Bowerman Field on chartered flights to bring attention to their big land sales promotion. A caravan of cars paraded them to Hoquiam and on to Ocean Shores. The streets and roads were lined with those wanting to "see a star". My high school friend Bobby Wiscomb had family connections allowing us to ride in one of the VIP cars. We were allowed into the VIP-only gathering at The Ginny Simms Restraurant. There were many celebrities; but to make a long story short, most were cold, dismal, and many drunk. Years later the restaurant name was changed to the Ocean Shores Inn. Bobby changed his name to Lance Brooks and performed as a singer entertainer at the Inn."
