Thanks to Terri Middleton, who notes: The brick building (upper right) is the original Weatherwax High School building built in 1909 (see other photos of it on this website). The building in the foreground, the Phillips Building, was put up on the Weatherwax's front lawn as the high school expanded. The high school also took over the old Miller Jr. High School's buildings. This cobbled together arrangement was never efficient but a new school wasn't built until the Weatherwax building was gutted by arson fire in 2002. All the buildings comprising the old school, except for the Sam Benn Gym, have been torn down and the area now serves as parking for the new high school a block away."
