Thanks to Ian Edlund, who offered this information: “This is the full Weatherwax High School Orchestra including winds. From 1970 until 1974 it numbered about 50 string players, almost all girls since the band was limited to boys until about 1970. The orchestra was the largest high school orchestra in the state at that time and had a reputation for high quality performances. (The blank space in the center of the photo was to allow for the picture to spread across two pages of the "Quinault" yearbook without losing anyone in the binding!)”
