Thanks to Sam Talley who notes: “In 1925 Charles W. Becker purchased 40 acres in Kalaloch and began building his Becker's Ocean Resort. After Pearl Harbor the Coast Guard took over the resort and operated defensive patrols out of it to guard the Washington coast against possible enemy attack. In 1944 they returned it to Becker who operated the resort until it was purchased by the US Park Service and renamed Kalaloch Resort. It is now [2009] managed by a private company for the Forest Service."
