Thanks to Sam Talley, who notes: "The Independent Order of Odd Fellows, IOOF or Odd Fellows first came to the United States in Maryland in 1819. It came to Aberdeen in 1888 when a new hall was built at Market & F Street. Carpet was not available so sawdust from the Weatherwax sawmill was used as the first floor covering."
