The tug HOQUIAM ( see also G1199_1, G1200_1, G120l_1, G1162_1) was owned by the Schafer Brothers Logging Company. Thanks to Terri Middleton and Ralph J. Dale for contributing information.
Thanks to Ed Sloan who adds: “Great Photos! My Father Jack Sloan who worked for Quiggs bought the HOQUIAM from Schafer Bros. in about 1956. I would have been 6. He refurbished it and we used it for salmon fishing at Westport and family outings on the river until he sold it in about 1962 and we moved to California. We heard it went to Alaska as a fishing boat but we have never heard what happened to it after that, other than stories that it was abandoned in the mud flats in a harbor in Alaska. Great memories of riding on the front deck and steering the big wheel and tooting the horn to open the bridges!”
